The Governors of Lady Hawkins’ School wish to appoint an inspirational Headteacher to deliver our school’s vision. As a school where the local community is important, the Headteacher will actively support and promote this.

Our Academy is an inclusive school sitting in the beautiful town of Kington in Herefordshire within the Welsh Borders.

The current Ofsted judgement of Good was achieved in January 2018. The report is exceptionally positive and reflects the rapid improvement achieved by the school since the previous inspection.

Our size makes it possible for the whole staff to get to know students as individuals and make their happiness, care and development a key priority. Our warm, friendly environment provides students of all backgrounds and abilities with the opportunity to reach their full potential. Students are supported by enthusiastic and hardworking staff who want the very best for them. The wide range of extracurricular activities that we provide are an important strength of the school.

Our community is proud of our school and have high expectations for its future.

We wish to appoint a leader who shares our passion to build on the progress made to date and who will develop the strengths of our school by leading, motivating and supporting students, staff and the wider school community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A track record of success as a senior leader in a secondary school;
  • A clear strategic vision and drive to fulfil our school’s potential;
  • The skills to embed and promote the school’s community ethos;
  • A commitment to ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all;
  • Effective communication skills that will motivate and enable all key stakeholders and the wider community to support our school vision.

If you are looking for a new and exciting challenge and want to be part of our school’s success, then we would like to hear from you.
